Oil can be separated from the mixture b/c it is non-polar and water is polar, and the do not mix. Oil can be separated by skimming it off of the water.

Nails are magnetic and can be removed with a magnet (they are also large so they can be picked out with your hands)

Sand can be removed by density and settling, it will sing to the bottle and the water can be poured off.

Table salt is soluble, you can distill the water out of the salt mixture, leaving solid salt behind.
