KB homes in Houston?

I am buying a home in northwest Houston. I found a very nice house that was built in 2002. It seems to have been well maintained (at least I found no defects in and out). I was ready to buy it, but I found the builder was KB homes that has had bad reputation for its low quality materials and construction.
If anyone knows how good/bad the quality of KB homes built in Aberdeen subdivision in 2002 or so is, please let me know. I also would want to know if it’s good for me to buy a KB home “looking good” or not in spite of their reputation.
Please share your opinions with KB either generally or specifically. Thanks!

I am very familiar with KB homes. I won’t take my clients there unless they are on extremely limited budgets and need alot of square footage for the money.

It is very low quality contruction and materials, their HOA’s are set up with bare minimum standards, and KB has even had neighborhoods to go downhill so fast, that they had to PULL OUT of the neighborhood before they even sold all the lots, because the value of the property fell so fast.

I personally, would stay away from them.
