what does the average home cost in austin texas?

say a three bedroom 2 bath home. maybe new or a well kept home. regular yard size. not a farm. my sister is saying home prices are almost the same as central new jersey. which i think is hard to believe. as of now with homes hard to sell, her home is up for sale here in nj for 250.000. 3 bdrm 2 bth maintained ranch. 60x 100 yrd. any help?

Being a lifelong Texan, I can tell you that Austin is a higher priced market all around, so, although the price of the home will obviously depend on what it’s built with (brick or frame), and what neighborhood it’s in, it’s going to be a lot costlier than the surrounding rural areas, or in other areas in Texas. That’s not to say that it is THE costliest area to buy, although it may be, but it is one of the costlier areas to buy in. God Bless you.
