Buying real estate in Wales?
What as a foreigner (Australian) do i need to know about buying real estate in Wales?
I have always liked the rolling hills of Wales and was thinking about buying a country property to escape the madness of Melbourne and have a base in Europe for about 6 months of the year.
What can I get for what money? What are some nice quiet areas, with pretty stone villages, with a major city no more than a couple of hours away? What do I need to know legally and about how houses are sold are Wales especially regarding foreigners? Where should I start looking regarding real estate sites online to get an indication of what’s available?
Look for somewhere along the M4 corridor, down in the south. Access is easier and you are near to Swansea and Cardiff. There are plenty of villages around. Check out the rightmove website to find out what’s within your budget. It’s a pretty big area you are looking out.
Houses are sold by placing offers arranging necessary mortgages and handing it over to solicitors who then handle things.
